Meet our five-day
programs
Program #1: Reading Correction
At Mind Orientation we’re defying dyslexia – one page at a time.
Our three-phase plan to
revolutionary reading
Program #2: math mastery
Mind Orientation’s approach to learning math allows your child to finally make that quantum leap to success.
Here’s how we teach them to
calculate with confidence
After determining the best tools suited to your child’s learning style and needs, the facilitator will coach him in a variety of focusing techniques to improve focus, relaxation, balance, self-regulation, and coordination. Some of our exercises include Release, Auditory Orientation, Fine-tuning, and Energy-dial.
Like the reading program, the first step in math mastery enables students with dyscalculia to control disorientation. Once students have an improved ability to regulate attention focus and correct perceptual distortions, they can move on to the next step and resolve any confusion about math with methods that build upon their creative and imaginative strengths.
The facilitator will then introduce Alphabet Mastery and Symbol Mastery, a breakdown of basic mathematical symbols (if not already completed in the prior reading program). Using three-dimensional materials like clay, students model the alphabet, numerals, and operation symbols. This includes practice on Story-Problem Trigger words (small words such as “by” or “from” which have separate meanings when used to describe math problems) and 21 Math Trigger words.
This step ensures that they have an accurate perception and understanding of these symbols and can use them to apply procedure in math examples.
This step includes an in-depth overview of the foundational concepts underlying all mathematics: Self, Change, Cause-Effect, Before-After, Consequence, Time, Sequence, and Order vs. Disorder. This critical piece of the program facilitates comprehension of story problems typical of verbal mathematical units.
These are twelve exercises that span computation skills from addition to division with three-place numbers and decimals. Our method quickly leads to competency in foundational mathematics.
Students will gain foundational skills that will give them a leg up as educated consumers and independent adults. These life-long skills include: telling time and time management and household money skills.
Program #3: Attention Mastery®
At Mind Orientation, our students learn the life hacks for ADHD-proof productivity.
Beyond distractions: Our proven
approach to conquering internal chaos
Children who are labeled or diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD or ADHD) tend to be highly imaginative and creative thinkers. Often they have difficulty harnessing their ideas and translating thought into action. They know what they want to accomplish, but struggle when it comes to completing tasks and establishing organization in their lives.
Attention Mastery systematically models and guides understanding of life concepts such as consequence, order, and responsibility. Students gain effective tools to address attention, behavioral, or organizational difficulties and develop personal insight and understanding into their self-created barriers.
Through working one-on-one with a facilitator and learning techniques like Orientation, Dial Setting, and Release, children learn to:
Develop
self-awareness

Manage time, stress, and emotional triggers

Recognize and clear distorted perceptions

Use simple mental tools to focus, relax, and control and monitor energy levels

Master and internalize concepts that will help them with social interactions and attention issues such as self, change, consequence, before/after, cause/effect, time, sequence, and order/disorder

Apply these concepts in real-life situations

learning that
lasts a lifetime
